The availability of an immunoassay laboratory is of tremendous advantage. At high risk of diabetes mellitus are hypertensive patients, smokers, the obese, those with a family history of diabetes, woman on contraceptive pills pregnant women and people over 40 years especially those with a sedentary lifestyle.
